The recreational paddle for Wednesday May 31 will be on the North Thompson River in Westsyde.
For all recreational paddlers.
We will paddle Northward upstream along the west bank of the North Thompson River, cross to the East bank and take a leisurely downstream paddle through a hidden channel for approximately 1.5 km. We will then cross back to the West bank for a short upstream paddle back to where we started. Along the way we will likely see beavers, ducks, geese, songbirds, deer and possibly herons, eagles and other wildlife. The loop will take us about an hour and fifteen minutes depending upon how hard we want to work against the current and how leisurely we want to go with it.
5:30 Meet at Pioneer Park to pick up canoes and gear from the TRIPS compound.
(Or 6:15 Meet at 635 Bermer Pl in Westsyde if you will have your own canoe and all equipment.)
6:30 (approx) On the water.
7:45 (approx) Take out and return to Pioneer Park.
